WEBINAR: Non-targeted PFAS determination with Ion Chromatography - facts and possibilities
Date: 12. 6. 2024 and On-Demand
Time: 11:00 AM Central European Summer Time
Duration: 1 hour
More information: here
Join Dr Detlef Jensen live to discover the facts and possibilities of using ion chromatography for non-targeted PFAS detection.
The full extent of PFAS exposure can't be achieved through targeted analysis and non-targeted analysis (NTA) is becoming more frequently deployed. Many NTA approaches have their challenges, limitations and do not capture all PFAS substances.
In this webinar, Detlef will explore the combustion ion chromatography (CIC) technique as a complimentary analytical tool to provide increased sample PFAS information. He will walk us through the different fluoride fractions and discuss how to balance fluorine in PFAS analysis. European and international standardized CIC methods will be covered (DIN, ISO) as Detlef leads us through sample examples including drinking water to comply with the EU drinking water directive, wastewater, human serum, textiles and food packaging material.
Learning Points:
- Fluorine mass balance
- Fluorine speciation
- How total organic fluorine can be used to capture more PFAS
Who should attend?
- Environmental, water and food contaminant testing laboratories
- Laboratory professionals interested in PFAS analysis
- Laboratories requiring additional PFAS detection methods to comply with current and future regulations
Speaker:
- Dr. Detlef Jensen, Sr Application Expert, Applied Markets, EMEA Analytical Instruments Group, Thermo Fisher Scientific
